8:00am, Wednesday, April 6th, 2016.....I'm still passed out sleeping having stayed up working for half of the night. My wife, Liz, had left for work two hours earlier. My infant daughter rolls over, grabs a big handful of my hair, and yanks with all of her 1 1/2 year old might.
Thanks to my painful yet highly effective alarm clock I go from deep sleep to fully awake and alert in 10 seconds flat. I see that the light on my cell phone is blinking signifying that I have a message. I grab it.
There are two messages:
1) A voicemail from our realtor
2) A text from Liz telling me to listen to the voicemail from the realtor immediately!
I put the phone to my ear and got a bit angry when I heard it because my first thought was that my family had somehow collaborated to play an April Fools Joke on me.
In the message, our Realtor stated that we had received a full price offer on our house after having it on the market for only a matter of HOURS!
A few hours later we accepted the offer and signed the contract. Pending inspection it's Boom, Bam, Done-Deal!
Our "house sale story" is a clear example that change is possible for us all. We can change our lives MUCH faster than we think is possible if we are just willing to push our chips in the middle for the things we believe strongly in.
Your current situation doesn't matter as long as you have a vision of where you want your life to go, and you are willing to put in the work necessary to achieve that vision!
Liz and I agonized for a year over the decision to put our house on the market. We would go round and round worrying about every ridiculously small flaw and thought we were in for a long, tough road to get it sold.
Finally, our growing child pushed/inspired us to take the leap of faith to put the For Sale sign in our yard. Moving will be a big, but necessary change and step forward for us down the path to our dreams.
If the life you are living is less than your ideal, then let this article and our story be the "push" for you to start making the changes necessary to get there.
It's human nature to be scared of what we don't know. We gravitate towards comfort and security, which produce boring, mediocre lives.
From today forward let's commit to living a life that is filled with fun, risk, adventure, and happiness. Let's embrace the changes we need to make with youthful courage, spirit, and curiosity! Let's all quit stalling and just go for it!

Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?"
