My name is Florenda Reynolds. I am one of God's chosen ones to be a warrior to fight Stage 4 Uterine Cancer. My oncologist was planning to do a robotic surgery, but my cancer was so extensive she had to do it herself manually for 7-10hrs.
My family and I were so devastated to find out I had Stage 4 Uterine Cancer or Endormetrial Cancer. My doctor could only perform a partial hysterectomy because a lot of my cancer cells were hanging on to my cervix and rectal area.
For treatment she started chemo during my hospitalization. I received 10 pints of blood transfusion. 6 months later my doctor performed another partial hysterectomy and removed all the cancer.
However, my chemo was given every 21 days for 12 infusions. Then a month after that cancer developed on my abdominal lymph. So I received 26 radiations on my abdominal area daily for 1 hour which temporarily resolved the issue.
But another month came and another lymph cancer was found above my rectal area. So at that time I received more chemotherapy treatments. I have now been taking maintenance chemo for one year and a half now.
My doctor wants me to continue my maintenance chemo until further orders. My oncologist is in Louisville, Kentucky. We live in New Concord, KY which is about 4 and a half hours from us.
We have to go there every 21 days. It is so hard to come up with the money to go back and forth as we are on fixed income. Any financial assistance Fight the Fight can offer is greatly appreciated!
More than 50% of the proceeds from all Fight the Fight purchases made between November 16th, 2016 and November 30th, 2016 will be donated to Florenda to help cover medical-related expenses!
