Dylan is a bright young man who had a wonderful life until one Saturday night.     Dylan is a very determined, strong, willful soul who has a heart of gold. Survivor Story: Lori Myers

  Contributed by Lisa Bertolis On January 31st, 2018 Lori went in for her annual mammogram and was told that they saw an abnormality which was believed to be lobular carcinoma in situ.  She was scheduled a biopsy on February 8, 2018.  She received a call confirming that it was lobular carcinoma and was then scheduled to meet with a surgeon.    She was given a couple of options, but the doctor wanted to have an MRI done as well.  In hindsight she sure is glad she did!    During the MRI they found a lymph node under her left...

Survivor Story: Elliott Llewellyn

  Written by Adam & Alison Llewellyn Contributed by Stephanie Yingling Elliott Llewellyn is a 4 year old little boy who was diagnosed with Jacobsen Syndrome and Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.  In his four short years of life, he's undergone an open chest surgery, open heart surgery, and several heart cath procedures.    While in the waiting period for his Fontan surgery, his heart function worsened, forcing him to be admitted to St. Louis Children's Hospital on November 16th, 2017.  We are now listed for a heart transplant. Written & Contributed  by Tiffany Harris-Boyd   I was experiencing horrible pain in which I thought was just a kidney infection and boy was I wrong.     Not only did I find out I had kidney stones I also have a distended bladder which has 2 options for treatment.    One being a lifetime of having to use a catheter, or the other being 2 surgical procedures that will implant what is equivalent to a pacemaker into my lower back that would control the nerves from my brain to my bladder so that I am able to use the bathroom. ...
